The cat drifted west through reaction-GIF reposts, sat dormant through 2024–2025 as a quiet "vibe meme," and detonated in February 2026 when Russian users paired it with Viki Show's earnestly cringe child-pop track «Просто». Cute Sims cat + earnestly cringe kid-pop chorus = the dominant chill-cat format of the spring.
In Sims canon, the plumbob is the soul-meter. Green means the Sim is content. Green means the player has selected them. Green means they exist. Russian users seized on this immediately: the cat isn't just listening to music — the cat is being controlled. Someone, somewhere, has clicked on him. He is выбранный. He doesn't know it.
